Ammoye is a unique multidimensional vocalist raised in reggae. Originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, now residing in Toronto, Canada, this 7X Juno Award Nominee, is consistently invited to perform at high-profile events and festivals. With catchy melodies she reveals her buttery vocal range and an insatiable character. She is easily cast as one of Canada’s best reggae and fusion vocalists and considered by many music tastemakers as Canadian reggae’s “Next Big Thing”.                
Ammoye’s sophomore album Water is a collection of songs that offer a unique blend of old-school rocksteady, dancehall and dubstep sprinkled with gospel, soul and R&B. This 13 - track LP features productions from Natural High out of Jamaica, Toronto’s own DJ Agile, The Senior Allstars from Germany, Thomas Blondet from Brooklyn New York, Adian Hanson Donsome of Donsome Records from New York, Toronto’s Danny Maestro, and others who represent the best talents in their respective fields. Released in the fall of 2021, Ammoye’s highly anticipated “Water” did not disappoint, garnered another Juno nomination and even Grammy Award consideration.

Becoming a highly endorsed artist has earned Ammoye performances at major festivals and events. She has shared the stage with reggae moguls such as: Ziggy Marley, Freddie McGregor, Chronixx, Romain Virgo, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Chris Martin, Tarrus Riley, Barrington Levy and Exco Levi just to name a few. She has been invited to perform around the world, including on behalf of Canada in 2019, as an independent artist at The Grammy Showcase during Grammy week in Los Angeles. Outside of North America she has showcased at the legendary New Skool Rules Music Festival in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In 2021, Ammoye made Reggae music history, opening the Juno Awards, performing alongside Kirk Diamond and Tome on Canada’s biggest night in music. In 2022, Ammoye was invited to perform at COMAfest in Brazil, where she delivered two stellar performances.

At Mundial Montreal 2022, Ammoye was awarded the Rideau Award. This honour is awarded by attending presenters, giving one exceptional artist the opportunity to showcase at the upcoming Rideau Conference (2023 in Quebec City). Ammoye also won the Kilimanjaro Music Awards (KMA) in 2022 for best music video for “On The Dock”.

An advocate for mental health and an ambassador for CAMH, Ammoye is without question one of the most dynamic and compelling female Canadian performers on the scene right now, and is at the forefront of the modern connection between Jamaica, Toronto, and the world.
